Star pitcher Dylan Cease is also an avid painter. In his spare time off the field, he creates vibrant, collage-style paintings that often celebrate the city he’s grown to love since arriving in Toronto. One of those paintings, Eve of Toronto (2026), is now the centrepiece of a new limited-edition capsule of merchandise available for purchase at the AGO Shop.
The AGO x Cease collection was made for art lovers and sports fans alike. On sale at the AGO, the collection includes prints, postcards, T-shirts, sweatshirts and totes. All proceeds from AGO X Cease support the AGO’s charitable mission to enrich lives through art and learning, thanks to Cease’s generous contribution.
Cease painted Eve of Toronto (2026) on the cusp of his arrival in Toronto. The painting, which he describes as a love letter to the city, has captured Toronto hearts since it was first hung in Blue Jays Manager John Schneider’s office.
“Painting gives me joy,” he says. “It relaxes me. I'm happy creating my paintings and very happy that they have resonated with the incredible fans across the GTA. To know that people will be able to enjoy my art and take home this collection is a thrill.”
The AGO x Cease collection is on sale in person and online at the AGO Shop while quantities last.
