On Friday, May 8, June 26, and July 17 at 6 pm, DJ collective PANTHEON brings its signature blend of ambient, minimal techno and house to AGO’s Walker Court for a special series of performances. Featuring local DJs Lichen, Lake FX, and Myles, the group shares a passion for weaving art and music into a single immersive experience—transforming the dance floor into something like a shadowy forest, full of reverberating beats and echoing rhythms.
PANTHEON emerged from a run of monthly parties at Tommy’s Wine Bar, where Lichen, Lake FX, and Myles launched “The Living Room.” Designed to feel open and accessible, the nights invited friends and fellow DJs to hop on the decks, play, and experiment—free of cost, pressure, and the intensity of nightclub culture. That casual spirit attracted experimentation, variety and, most importantly, an engaged and dynamic community.
With this series at the AGO, PANTHEON hopes to carry this sentiment forward with rhythms that invite all to join in the revelry of art and music. As Myles puts it, “a saturnalia in the heart of Toronto.”
PANTHEON’s sets will be complemented with ethereal visuals by Hagop Ohannessian, artist and Manager, AV Services at the AGO.
Let’s meet Lake FX, Lichen and Myles from PANTHEON:
Lake FX from PANTHEON
Lake FX is a DJ, producer and author who has contributed to a range of fringe and eclectic communities over the past 15 years. A graduate of Trent University’s Cultural Studies doctoral program, they published their dissertation, A Sociolegal Mediation of Rave Sound System Technologies, in 2019. For the upcoming AGO performance, Lake FX is looking forward to playing Overworld by Craig Hamilton. As they explain, “This mysterious and evocative piece channels the essence of strange worlds and unknown landscapes.”
Lichen from PANTHEON
Lichen’s sound is shaped by a background as a classical violinist and as a performer of Dundunba (currently studying under master drummer Saikou Sahou). With an ear for tribal and mystic rhythms, their mixes explore the counterpoint between light and dark. When asked what song they’re most excited to play, Lichen points to Root System by Vera Logdanidi: “a song that invokes the sounds of underground ecosystems that wind and stretch deep in the earth.”
Myles from PANTHEON
Myles is a writer, artist, and DJ who loves to spin both vinyl and digital. His emphasis is on experience over concept, bringing a court-jester-style playfulness to his sets. One track he will be playing is Moorthon 2 by Frank Wiedemann, a personal favourite of his that conjures an unforgettable, and haunting chorus like something one might hear in a dark forest.
Catch Lake FX, Lichen and Myles’ live performances at the AGO this spring on May 8, June 26, and July 17 as part of AGO Friday Nights. These performances are free with general admission to the AGO. For more details, visit https://ago.ca/events/ago-friday-nights-pantheon-collective-dj-series.
